Christopher Reeve portrayed the Man of Steel in four Superman films and played dozens of other roles that displayed his talent and range as an actor, before being injured in a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After becoming a quadriplegic, he became a charismatic leader and activist in the quest to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care.

"Had the urge to watch this after seeing the new James Gunn movie SUPERMAN. A powerful and moving documentary. A beautiful tribute to not only Christopher Reeve himself (and his wife Dana Reeve), but also serves as a moving reminder of how life experiences can play a massive role in the kind of symbol one can become to others through advocacy. I especially like how the film goes back and forth between his early career days and his post injury days, effectively painting a powerful portrait of him as a man, highlighting both the challenges he faced in life and serving as a reminder to not take things and people around you for granted. I can see why this won the BAFTA award for Best Documentary Film, and it is certainly well deserved. It was pretty clear to me that James Gunn and his cast and crew did a great job of honoring Reeve’s legacy when making the new SUPERMAN movie while also making something fresh and relevant to today (Reeve’s youngest son Will has a blink and you’ll miss it cameo in the new movie). Easily one of my favorite celebrity documentaries for sure, and one highly worth watching."

"What an intimate, heartbreaking, and inspiring documentary. Growing up, Superman was always my childhood hero. This documentary on Christopher Reeve solidifies the fact that he was truly a hero. I'm not gonna lie and say that I didn't wish that they spent a little bit of time talking about his involvement with Smallville, but still an amazing documentary"
