"Absolutely enjoyed all 4 Wes Anderson shorts based on Roald Dahl stories. Probably my second favorite of the shorts (after Henry Sugar). Benedict Cumberbatch was the MVP, with strong performances from Dev Patel and Ben Kingsley too. Highly recommend all 4."

"I've really enjoyed all four of these Roald Dahl adaptations by Wes Anderson, but I'd say Poison is my 3rd favorite of the group of them. Dev Patel and Benedict Cumberbatch should be cast in future Wes Anderson projects, that's for sure. I hope Anderson will do more Roald Dahl adaptations whether they are short films or feature length. By the way, I've also seen the Alfred Hitchcock Presents adaptation of this story (season 4, episode 1) and if I remember right it ends a little differently than this one and the original story."
"I feel like this story could’ve done something really interesting with exploring the idea of a man believing he was about to die, but instead it went the medical route. Also, I kind of suspected there was no snake from the beginning, so that didn’t come as a surprise and the way the reveal went down just made me feel disappointed in the characters rather than amused. One thought I did have, though: is the anti-venom killing Henry instead? Like, they never say, but the name of the story is “Poison”, the anti-venom is the only thing Henry was injected with, and the Dr. doesn’t think that he saved Henry, plus Henry and the Doctor were both portrayed as somewhat intelligent men while the narrator wasn’t, so it would explain why Henry got so incredibly angry with the Doctor (though it definitely doesn’t excuse his insults towards the Doctor)."
