"First of all, be prepared for slow and meticulous storytelling. I was prepared for this, but it does get a bit long at 2hr 43 minutes. I appreciate a good movie based on history and this one was star studded, but at times it was a difficult watch. The core of this film to me, was both about what role trust plays in one's life, and having a life full of secrets.
I don't think I would recommend this film to many people, but it's story is important. I felt as though one of the key points brought up was how this 'program' of intelligence/counter intelligence is dependent on Russia being a threat. Is it true that they are though, or is it what they want you to think?
The beginnings of government and disinformation seem to be birthed here, for America at least.
Ultimately, a very tragic story that you don't come away feeling good about. What you do feel is informed and shattered."
