"4.25⭐️ For dog lovers and foodies, this one is for you — with a sweet romance and sadly poignant, even suspenseful medical drama to boot. Plus…this movie is so lovely to watch it’s calmingly immersive. Softly vivid cinematography and harmonious coloring, GORGEOUS Brazilian scenery for good measure. It’s emotional for sure but still light, comedic, and often silly, thanks to Caramelo the stray, the cutest little troublemaking rascal and most excellent dog actor. The leads are sweet and appealing, the story sentimental but not too overly saccharine, and the English dubbing is actually good! (I always test it out just to see and I swear it’s getting better these days much of the time!). This movie manages to balance the heartrending with a frothy bubbly-ness. And, as a cohabitating human companion (😂 borrowed from another animal focused Netflix new release - “Old Dog, New Tricks” 😂), by its moving conclusion I deeply resonated with its message about the magical ability of a dog to powerfully change a life. I suspect a good many dog owners will too 🐕🐾💞"
