Almost Cops

"I usually stray away from reviewing foreign comedies because I want to be fair. There are inside cultural/procedural that just don't translate to an American audience. It might be really funny if I got the reference. But I decided to try again. The plot is pretty straight forward...a peace officer who daydreams about being a real cop and is really invested in the community ends up teaming up with a real detective who just so happens to be the one who was with his detective brother when he was killed. They end up on the same page looking for the people responsible. The lead reminds me a lot of Kevin Hart. He provided most of the comic relief. The action was appropriate for this kind of movie. 2 things lowered the score for me: it felt like an imitation of an American buddy cop movie and the tone was off. Something super serious would happen and then he would be happy skipping around in the next scene. I was hoping for Dutch comedy movie instead of this Americanized version.
