"Evil shirley temple. This is a bluth type movie. It's good with the slightly edgier story those movies have. We used to watch it a lot as kids, I cant really remember the songs but do remember darla and the boat."

I feel that it's always been underappreciated, with larger than life musical numbers, excellent humor, and an effective allegory for discrimination in casting in Golden and Silver Age Hollywood, as well as the cutthroat competition in the film industry."

"I can tell that all of the animators' heart and soul went into this masterpiece! The colors, the camera angles, the perspective and proportions drawn, the sound design, and the characters were all beautifully done. I had never heard of this movie before I saw a clip from it on social media, and had to see it! A very cute story, and not a cheesy musical like some. I also loved the drawn facial expressions, all of Darla's were hilarious! Definitely a must watch. 9/10"
