"This movie has been on my watch list for over a decade, and I'm glad I finally checked it out. It kinda grounds Vampires in pseudo-science instead of mysticism, tge same way Night of the Living Dead did for Zombies. I can definitely see how it may be uncomfortable for some viewers. Having lack of blood for Vampires directly mimic drug wisdrawals and directly and explicitly tying vampire biting with sexual assault but to me it feels like it's just making explicit connections that have always lied under the surface in vampire media."

"John Amplas is my friend on Facebook and he did a great job on this movie. An actual serious review for once, if anyone is reading, this movie is genuinely such a good vampire introduction. A true diamond in the rough among many of the tropes at the time. It's slow, methodical, and beautiful. It's worth a shot if you can appreciate something like that :)"
