"Sad and funny in equal measure, but not nearly as bleak as I was expecting. It would be interesting to see an attempt at re-adapting (as this is already an adaptation of a novel) this for the modern audience.
It's also interesting seeing one of the earliest inspirations for DC Comics' Joker, at least in terms of physical presentation. It's great to see the scheming Barkilphedro get what's coming to him in the end, and the dog ("wolf") lives!"
"The second silent film I watched. It was one of the films that made me really interested in watching more silent films. It has really interesting characters and plot. The romance is also really sweet as well as found family. I don’t really understand why it’s horror though. It’s more of a movie we’re you pity the main character and root for the the two to get together. "
