"I'd waited years for this, and I can honestly say they did it justice. Storywise and voice acting, too. It's a realistic fiction story about 4 siblings who's parents just passed, and they are now on the run trying to avoid their grandfather. In doing so they have to learnt to survive on their own. So you'll even learn a few things about living sustainably. One of the things this book/movie taught lives rent free in my brain just for whenever the moment I may need it.
However, it's pretty obvious the animation is bottom tier and not well done. The scenes look great, and even the characters can be good, too. Except how both interact with one another is another story. Sadly, it's not subtle either. It's very obvious to you when you watch and early on too. Only I didn't watch this for the animation. I came for the story I loved reading as a kid, and the movie it is right now. Now that is good.
It's a sweet and touching story that leads to so much more. There is a sequel, but apparently, the series ends there as it wasn't popular enough for more. Unluckily, that's when the series gets really good. These were based on the chapter books, about the 4 kids who solve mysteries. Just also with a touching backstory of how they wound up where they did. That's this story. Their origin and it is a nice one that you can show to all ages of children without any worry.
Overall, if you're a fan of the series, it's a lot of fun to watch this come to life. Even if you're not a fan, as I've shown my friends, they enjoy it too. They often think it's sweet and squeal at certain moments. Although they are very adamant each time about how bad some animation moments are. The worst part happens at the beginning very early on in the movie so it's unavoidable. But if you can get past those times, it's still a great and moving story the whole family can enjoy."
