"Scott, the Lieutenant, is played by Robert Ryan. He is plagued by nightmares of a tragic accident during his time in the navy. He thinks he wants to marry his sweet blonde haired girlfriend, Eve, or Nan Leslie, but then by chance, Scott meets a beautiful and mysterious dark haired beauty, named Peggy, on the nearby beach, played by actress Joan Bennett. Her verbally abusive husband, Tod, is played by Charles Bickford, an older actor, a former brilliant artist who has lost his sight. Scott believes that Tod has a strange and toxic hold on Peggy, and tries to prove that Tod may actually be able to see, but is keeping Peggy because of a morbid need for her. Yes, a silly plot, but I was actually drawn in by the good acting. The ending is very abrupt, but passable. The runtime is about 70 minutes. "
