"This crime drama takes place in San Francisco. George Raft stars as Steve Larwitt, a night club owner who has an intense passion for beautiful singer Brenda Bentley, or Joan Bennett. Steve and Joan start a whirlwind 🌪️ relationship. Unfortunately, the law comes calling at Steve's door, and it is up to Steve's right hand man, Slant Kolma, played by Lloyd Nolan, to defend him in court. Brenda's life changes dramatically, and the rest of the movie is about what happens after Steve's trial. Later, Brenda meets a man named Tim Nolan, played by Walter Pidgeon, who tries to help her out of her troubles. Good acting from the entire cast.
