"I had a lot of fun watching this comedy drama. James Cagney plays the role of Dan, a charming racketeer with enough charisma to land a Hollywood career. There are a lot of funny scenes, but the plot is balanced with enough drama and tough guy lines to keep it entertaining. Cagney plays his usual smart alec, fast talking, short tempered character, but a little more low key to allow for more comedy. "
