"Okay, I'll admit it. That was so cute.
Yes, it's not trying to be, but I'm glad I watched it. That stupid hysteria comedy with the dumb voice over at times didn't matter. The core of the story was there, and I was completely here for it. I don't care who you are if you actually finish this movie all the way through. You're going to enjoy yourself.
I will admit I walked away a few times to do things, so it doesn't quite hold your attention throughout, but it's worth it. The jokes do hit, not all the times, but you are gonna chuckle.
I liked thew characters too. They felt realistic and true to what they're supposed to be. I did think the childhood love part was a bit much. It kind of subtracted from the story in bad ways and could've been stronger without it for sure. Honestly, I would've liked more interactions with the reporter and even Lou over her. But I guess it works out in the end.
Now, for the best part. That finale. It was absolutely and completely worth it. Not only was it in perfect taste, but it truly helped tie the story together, but it just worked. I couldn't have imagined it better if I tried. And I did. They wrapped it up in the best way possible. Not to mention the tie-in with the actual people who inspired the movie. Honestly, that was just the cherry on top of this monstrously amazing cake. It's not without its faults, but what isn't.
Overall, I'm surprised more people don't know of this movie. I didn't know of it until I saw a clip of it today. But I could see this being like a grown-up classic sort of situation. The R rating doesn't help that part, but it is what it is. It's a great fun movie you're going to enjoy some part of. I can't promise you'll watch it again or even love, but you're gonna have fun and even want to start playing tag again. Personally I suggest hide n seek but you do you."
