"Not my favorite Viggo Mortensen film. He is my favorite since 1985. I admire him very much. This movie reminds me of a place that I would not like to return to. But the relationship between the two men is heart warming and heart wrenching at the same time. See this, especially if you want to see what hell people put each other through because of ignorance and ill placed malice. Learn from it and do better. "
"Green Book is one of those movies that has somehow evaded me over the years. I've seen little snippets here and there but never watched it in its entirety until now. Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali give top tier performances of two polar opposite characters in a film that is based on a true story. It's a story about racism in the South, but more so about a white man changing his outlook, mindset, and perspective on something he'd been conditioned to abide by his whole life through shared experiences. It's tragic, funny, and heartfelt and one of the great buddies/road movies available. Supporting roles from Linda Cardellini and Sebastian Maniscalco were notable. Highly recommended. 8.5/10"
