"This was an excellent thriller. The film is from an Irish production company and focuses on an Irish fishing crew, and most of the film takes place on the trawler at sea. A young woman joins them from a biology research team. The crew experience an unknown phenomenon that lives in the water, and try to cope with its effects on them. This film is psychological, eerie, and not gory. I can only describe it as a quiet terror. The acting from all players was subdued, but very good."
"I'm not usually impartial to ocean or aquatic horror movies, but this one just really took it out of me. I had to try to watch this movie five different times before I could finally make it to the end. And what a dissatisfying ending. The monster hyped all this time is revealed to be more or less giant glowing jellyfish. And everyone's infected, even people near the end where they say they don't see any sign of infection, they are infected too. I don't know this movie just felt like a waste. 2/5"
"This caught me by surprise! It's kind of a naturalistic take on an sci-fi/horror infection narrative. It felt like how things might actually play out in the scenario of the plot, without overdoing or sensationalizing anything. I appreciated the sort of quiet, steady vibe, it made certain moments quite shocking by contrast. I loved the whole cast, especially the main actress, her character felt autistic-coded in a respectful way. And I cried at the end. Well done, movie!"
"Worth watching"
