"This small production by Rob Perlman, starring Ron Perlman as a contract killer tired of that life, is a nice surprise. Co-starring Famke Janssen as his love interest, Jacqueline Bisset, and Richard Dreyfuss, we as the viewer see Asher go through the motions of having a separate life, constantly interrupted by turf wars and petty revenge killing.
As we should, we are abhorred by the violence, but still wonder if it is possible for a man to give up a life of selfishness and change to one of hopefulness. Perlman does a competent job at making the viewer feel for him, wishing that he can get his life straight and live it well. The acting is subdued, with some acts of violence perpetrated by his character I was impressed at how quickly I was drawn into the plot. "
