"Its like Romeo & Juliet meets Beauty and the Beast mixing with Die Hard and of course adding in zombies. It's incredibly clever. Now onto the actual review. The beginning is slow and you just kind of force yourself to continue it. Yet at the same time it had me hooked and distracted me from my meal. I had put this on while I ate and I got 20 minutes in without taking a bite. So it is captivating in a way. You're so focused on learning everything you can, as this world is portrayed to you, you don't realize how far in you get. The story has an intense hook, I'll give it that, but there is a disconnect there while you're watching it that I can't quite pinpoint. The way they meet is unexpected yet exactly what you should expect. I know it's a contradiction, but youll understand once you watch it. Then him taking her back to the airport is weird but works. After that, things progress, & I enjoyed the added constant of the cure slowly occurring in the background. The boneys are also a nice touch, so you have action throughout. I liked their addition because it showed a point of no return putting pressure on both sides of our Romeo & Juliet dynamic. It also provided an intensity to the rather basic plot our modern day has come to know. The movie never truly shocked me, but at the same time it did. It's a living contradiction due to the action yet romantic comedy part, as I've stated above. Yet that contradiction works well for it, making things more inviting & intriguing to see play out. Its got a lot going for it, but sometimes those ideals & concepts clash. Despite it all though, it's satisfying & a good movie. Honestly, it's the perfect date night movie. Rom com meets zombies? Now that's got something for everyone while still creating a fun atmosphere. Itll even give you & your date something to discuss & talk about when its over. Fun & intriguing. "
