"This is another dumb shark movie. I recognize two of the actors: Joey Lawrence from the TV series "Blossom," and Andy Lauer from the TV series "Caroline in the City." These two guys haven't worked in years, and it shows. But, of course, there is always something to like about these dumb movies. I love to predict who will get eaten by the shark next, especially when the character makes a bone-head move. This time, a family stays in a seaside apartment which becomes flooded, and a hungry shark enters the home. I hope these "actors" were paid pretty good for being soaking wet for most of the movie. The plot is so absurd, but the movie was fun to watch."
"What a ride! I don’t know where Joey Lawrence has been hiding since 1997 but it definitely wasn’t at acting school. The supporting cast obviously showed up for filming with positive attitudes and that “just happy to be here” vibe really showed.
I especially enjoyed Jennifer Field as the wife. Her inability to express the appropriate emotions and facial expressions to match what was happening around her was a masterful display of how not to be good at acting. I think Brett Hargrave, who played the daughter, noticed this and tried to offset her onscreen mother by using no facial expressions at all, ever. Bravo.
Special shout out to the shark, who had the ability to change sizes at will and remain hidden while swimming in a 12’x12’ flooded basement until it was time to strike. A strong effort from a top tier special effects team for sure. Watch it! I sure did.
