"I remember my son was into playing Minecraft for a little while. I never understood the appeal of the "blocky" aesthetic when video game graphics had come so far. I still don't get it. This is a dumb movie. I can't believe I sat through the whole thing. I guess it's meant for kids and wasted on me. 2/10"

"I lived through the Minecraft fever 15 years ago with my son and here I am again with my nine year old “enjoying it” again. I know the basics of Minecraft and found this movie very entertaining. My daughter found it absolutely amazing. Even my husband loved it. Jack Black and Jason Mamoa are the dream team."

I was scared of what they would do with it.. and they killed this one! Whether it’s a “kids” movie or not, as a full grown adult… I LOVED IT! Don’t hesitate. "

" I have barely played Minecraft, but I have watched some gameplay videos. The movie did well on the background design and was watchable. I would have enjoyed the film more, but there was a better story to be told. I would have wanted them to defeat the Ender Dragon to escape the Minecraft world. If this gets a sequel the film should take this approach."
