"This beautifully choreographed artful film is described simply as a 2004 wuxia martial arts film from China, but it is so much more. Each scene is a delight to the senses. The film stars Takeshi Kaneshiro as Captain Jin, Andy Lau as Captain Leo, and Zhang Ziyi as Mei, a mysterious women with incredible martial arts 🥋 abilities. The three main characters are introduced on camera at a brothel, in which Mei is challenged to show her martial arts and dance skills. The plot is about factions that oppose the existing government, foremost of them, the house of flying daggers 🗡️. Each of the officers, Jin and Leo, believe that Mei is a part of this powerful faction. As the film progresses, there are battle scenes that look like pieces of moving art. 🎨 The final act is a gorgeous piece of filmmaking. Mandarin Chinese audio. "
