Copy CatFor clarity, I listened to the audiobook version, but for extra clarity, let me tell you that I think it enhances the experience. Listening to Christopher play as a teenage boy who considers himself smarter than his peers was very engaging, and the words themselves were very believably from the mouth of teenage boy like that. I was once a boy like Gideon and so while I was annoyed with him at times, I understood where he was coming from. There is a lot I could say about this book and my Queer Platonic Partner has heard an ear full. I can only hope that more people read it so that I can discuss it with more people. The serious moments and humorous ones don't clash with one another, and without a shadow of a doubt, I love this book so much. It won't be easy finding another book like this one, but I hope to god this author keeps going, because I loved this story so much.
