Jecca HrechkaChoreography is phenomenal. A couple moments in each episode that felt paced a bit odd. Last episode felt slow but ended so painfully and perfectly.
Jecca HrechkaThis was so weird and lovely and Greg is so pure. Very Tim Burton strangeness meets Adventure Time. Cant believe I waited so long to watch this.
Jecca HrechkaEvery single one of the Emmy nominations were WELL EARNED. this was exceptionally shot and edited and even colour graded. The sound design and the music was phenomenal, so much so that I barely noticed it was there because it so beautifully fit every moment and amplified every emotion. The wardrobe and sets, the hair and make up, all of the production was so incredibly designed. And the acting? Nuanced and beautiful and heartbreaking. So well cast. Such a brilliantly conceived script. This was amazing top to bottom.
Jecca HrechkaHow annoying. 🙄 I hate when I struggle through a show and then the ending is great. Like… couldn’t you make all of it great?!? it wasn’t bad throughout but I didn’t get into it until the fifth episode (there’s only six). A friend really wanted me to watch it so I pushed through. The ending is well done but I struggled with the inconsistency of tone throughout several episodes - especially when it came to the relationship between Adele and David. It was almost like the writers/director just needed them to either be getting along or not to move along other plot points but the transitions between getting along/not were so clunky and unnatural I found it distracting. The whole concept was great though.
Jecca HrechkaWhoever dressed Melissa McCarthy in this is a saint; her entire wardrobe is iconic. Anyways, lovely funny show to throw on in the background with some good running gags. Both times I’ve watched it have been in one sitting.
Jecca HrechkaThis show gives me cuteness aggression. My bestest best mates. Oh to just be a boy in love with another boy. 15/10 no notes.
Jecca HrechkaThis is definitely australian sex education meets PGish euphoria. I watched the first season when it came out and just started from the beginning again and watched both seasons over the last week and really enjoyed them. Hair, make up and wardrobe were always on point and often still quite individual. There’s obviously great representation but each character feels like a person and not a diversity hire and the characters have problems OUTSIDE OF their diversity which is a big one for me. Second season takes a bit of a left turn in a few different ways - the bird psycho storyline and the fire scenario and I struggled a bit with the “men are the monsters” undertone but I think it was trying to say that that’s not what it’s trying to say? I’m not sure. I think the next season will be good though. Also Ca$h is the best character but I don’t know if I loved all of the dialogue around him being Ace. Lots of drama but good for a binge watch if you’re looking for something kind of mindless that also teaches you a few things along the way.
