Summer StoneBefore reading this book I had no clue about anything they were talking about and still wouldn’t due to the lack of discussion of it in school. Although I was in seventh grade and was clueless to the topics of the book, I understood it immediately. Somehow the book was both eye opening and relatable. I loved the bond that the characters shared and the unbelievable experience that they had to endure. Although this experience nearly cost them their lives, it also brought them closer together. You will cry laugh and smile!
Summer StoneAlthough I’m not usually a fan of dual narration, this book is my one of my favorites. This is one of those books that you wish you could read for the first time again. It leaves such a lasting impression, and you will never take things like a home, food, or water for granted again. Usually when I read sad books they also have a sad ending. But somehow this book makes you cry almost the entire time and then at the end you feel tremendous joy and relief for the characters and doesn’t leave you wanting more.
