My Roommate is a Detective

"This is one of the top 5 Chinese dramas I have watched. The plot of each episode is extremely interesting and there is a main plot that carries through the entire show. All of the characters are well played (second male lead was actually my favorite character), and the romance between the mains is slow-burning but not cliche. Aesthetics of the show are great, especially the wardrobe. It was actually difficult for me to find another Chinese show to watch after this one because it was just that good. Downfalls? A lot of the explanations he gives for cases had yet to be discovered in the 1930s (i.e. the modern understanding of the mitochondria wasn’t understood until the 1960s), but I only caught those things because I am a scientist—it doesn’t impact the intrigue of the show. Another problem was the end…. It left a lot to be desired. They could have completed the male lead’s character arc in a much better way, but it doesn’t detract from the rest of the show! Highly recommend!!!"
