"I finally had the opportunity to watch this 2021 prison series from BritBox on HBO MAX, and it did not disappoint. Sean Bean and Stephen Graham give excellent performances as a first time convict and a seasoned prison guard, respectively. A gritty and realistic look at British prison life, where some prey on the meek, some yearn for redemption and atonement, but everyone just tries to survive. The first season is only 3 episodes, about an hour each, but they pack a lot into each. Sometimes surprising and brutal, and sometimes heartbreaking and hits you in the feels, but well done all the way through. I recommend watching it with the subtitles turned on. The cockney accents come fast and furious at times and can be difficult to follow. 9/10 There is a second season, another 3 episodes from 2023 but it's not yet available through HBO MAX. I believe it has new characters in a female prison, so I'm looking forward to seeing the next season as well."
