"I watched this because a meme had a famous line from the villain of the show. It intrigued me. I had to check it out. I'm glad I did. I enjoyed it.
There's huge attention to detail everywhere. No line or episode is without purpose. Which only makes our clever villain all the more intimidating. Any time you wonder about a continuity error or even how metal won't rust, the show writes a line or shows an explanation soon after. When I say everything has a purpose with this show I mean it. Every character is smart somehow & it shows in various ways. There is no "dumb character" in this show. & those that appear to be are soon shown not to. That helps highlight the actual bombastic Einstein level brain that our villain has here. Truly he shines and the main cast shine too. I applaud it for all it does.
It's faults do lie in the fact its male dominated & the girl is a TMNT April situation. Not completely, but you see the comparison clearly. Plus, after they try returning from Avalon, I had a problem staying invested. The story became repetitive, & I just couldn't stick with it. I do love the beginning of this show, & I think it works well, but I also think it lost itself trying to fill up that episode quota in the second season.
I still like it & I really do love the villain. So I am looking forward to finishing this someday. Hopefully, it gets better.
You will enjoy this show, let me clarify that. It's like beauty & the beast, the live action modern TV show that is but with gargoyles. Literally, it is exactly the same thing as that, just instead of a beastly super soldier, it's the leader of the gargoyles.
The characters are intriguing, the plot line is catchy, & the execution is well thought out. Excluding those recent episodes. They do good work, they just don't capture your attention like they need to.
I do enjoy the problems they all face & I like the cop angle, too. Plus I'm a sucker for good villains & he definitely is one. "
"Like all of Greg Wiseman’s shows, the characters are handled with such delicacy, and love, I can’t recommend it enough "
