"I have seen this mini series several times, each time, being drawn into how compassionately Patrick Swayze plays the role of the adventurer of Alan Quartermain. Alison Doody plays the role of a pampered British woman who needs to find her father, captured by an African ruler. She has a map to bargain with, one that could lead to the fabled gold mines of King Solomon. The scenes of Africa are well filmed, the acting is good, and include some light suspenseful scenes. "
