"Enjoyable historical fiction."

"I’m a fool for UK period pieces, but the rap music in an 1860 setting was distracting. The creator Steven Knight said he knew it was cheesy, so why? It’s not the first of its class to take this anachronistic detour, but it does not work for me. I’m disappointed. I use period pieces to escape today and this slings it back. "

"Historical fiction that reminded me a lot of Peaky Blinders as Creator Steven Knight also created House of Guinness. While I didn’t like it as much as Peaky Blinders, it plays like a violent, dark and gritty soap opera set in the backdrop of the late 1860’s Ireland with the Guinness siblings at the center of it. Definitely an entertaining watch. "
