"Fans of shows like Game of Thrones, Vikings, or Spartacus should enjoy this series as much as I have. I'm mad at myself for waiting so long to watch this Netflix series that ran from 2014 - 2016, somehow, it eluded me. I've only watched the first season so far, but I'm thoroughly impressed. I'm also saddened to learn that Netflix cancelled it after the second season. Lorenzo Richelmy plays Marco Polo, who is a servant of Kublai Kahn, played perfectly by Benedict Wong, and is the true star of this series as the story is set in the Mongolian Empire and centered around the exploits of the Kahn. Full of intrigue, treachery and deceit, sex and violence, this is an epic tale of the highest caliber set in this historical genre. High production value is obvious in the set designs, costumes, practical effects, and cinematography. It looks like they spent a great amount of time and resources towards cultural accuracy as well. I look forward to watching the second, and final, season. 9/10"
