"I took my sweet time watching all the episodes because I knew I would be sad when it ended. This is one of the most wholesome and enjoyable shows I've seen in years- subtle British humor, great soundtrack, several quirky characters, and a friendship to be admired. Nature and serenity, beautifully shot in a scenic countryside. This show is like a big, warm hug.
Update: I finally found the movie special streaming on Hoopla and watched it tonight. It's listed as the final episode in season 3 even though it takes place 7-8 years after the show ended. It starts out a little rough and jumbled and rushed- like they tried to cram a full season into an hour and 20 minutes (which doesn't work very well for a show that is known for being a slow burn and deliberately meticulous, that's a big part of its charm). Once everyone is brought up to speed it really picks up and it turned out to be super enjoyable. I laughed so hard at some of the little subtleties and inside jokes I'd missed so much from the show. Russell is always good for a chuckle, and the lemonade scene had me rolling. Overall 9/10 for the movie special. This entire show is seriously one of the greatest pieces of media ever made."
"I LOVED this show! I have always enjoy British humor especially when it is based in the mundane realities of life. And this show is just that along with beautiful countryside, a perfect theme song, quirky but not weird characters, and a plot that keeps you interested and pulling for the underdogs. It moves at a pace that fits what the show is about but some viewers may not find that aspect as pleasing as I did. I highly recommend this wonderful British sitcom. "
