"I find I really enjoy this noir feel. It's moody, gritty, well-acted, and artistically shot. Just going into episode 5... and the week long waiting is driving me crazy."

"Loved!!! Can hardly wait for season 2! Edit: Rewatched season 1 with my daughter and it was even better than the first time I watched it. There are some discrepancies, I've heard, but nothing that takes you out of it. The cinematography and wardrobe are excellent. The story was interesting. John Lithgow and Matthew Rhys (and basically the whole cast!) are superb. We are getting ready to start season 2. I hope it's as good as the first season. I'll let you know!"

"Liked it, not sure if I LOVE it. There is something a little slow about the pacing or something. I do love Matthew Rhys so that is a bonus. Maybe I am just not used to the Perry Mason character being so tortured...anyway, I would watch another season if it comes out."

"Pretty good historical fiction. From what I understand it’s very different from the original series ( never seen) but closer to the books ( never read). Impressive production and cinematography. I often find story’s from that era ( lost generation) to be complex and protagonists troubled, which I like. Matthew Rhys is fantastic as well as all other actors. The story is a bit scattered, but suspending disbelief helps to thoroughly enjoy this show. I wish it wasn’t cancelled. (06/22/25)"
