"This show was fun to and easy to binge-watch with a really fun premise and some really likable charaters...but the crass language feels like a middle schooler finally using curse words in their vocabulary..there only so many times I can hear the word bitch without wanting to go crazy. It also gives everyone the same sort of personality when most of them talk the same way. Some of the songs are really catchy but I wish there was a little more variety in the music, and the character design is a little weak and is giving Tumblrcore which I guess for some people could be good but I think it's kinda ugly. But overall it's a show worth watching despite all the maybe more cringy stuff because it has so much potential to be even better then it is currently."
"First, I need to say this animated TV show is NOT for kids. It's as R rated as you can get.
For fans of the pilot like me, the 1st episode of this series is not a replacement, it's actually the 2nd Episode & a continuation. So watch the pilot then this. The pilot is on YouTube & created by a LOT of YouTube animators coming together to make this show.
Now for the review.
I'm beyond excited! I watched the pilot on YouTube two days after it came out. I had a ton of animation major friends in college & they were obsessed, that passed onto me real quick. I wasn't so okay with the very R rated show it turned out to be, but man, was it clever & entertaining. You could see all the work that went into it. The amount of effort in every detail is outrageous. Even the songs were top-notch & catchy. Lin Manuel on cr*ck (watch & you'll see why I used that word) So, I was hooked & desperately waiting for more.
Once you get past episode 1 not being episode 1, this is fun.
The multitude of deep, dark, & absolutely fascinating characters to watch is beyond vast. I didn't think they'd be able to expand the world so well like they did, but the characters only get more interesting. Plus they don't diverge from the very slight hints the pilot & episode 1 gave. You may be a bit taken back by the vulgarity, very strange visuals, & sometimes disturbing moments yet it works for this show. I'm enjoying every minute, & the songs still kind of slap even if you can tell they're rushed.
Now for why it's not 5 stars. You can very clearly tell that the animation plummeted the moment it went to prime tv show. The characters barely move, especially compared to the pilots. That one you couldn't ever see stillness unless there was a reason. This one you're only seeing movement if there's a reason.
Still, I can get past that because story is really where my heart lies & man is this one intriguing. Truly stated, its one of a kind & I adore unique stories. I can't wait for more

"Edgy musical theater people found their match with this one. Chock full of GREAT musical numbers, crass language, and sex-drugs-and-rock-n-roll antics. Characters are lovable and the animation is very well done. My boyfriend, who isn't a fan of musicals, ended up absolutely loving this show. A fun time for people that like the vibe of Rick & Morty or Harley Quinn and a good showtune."
"Ummm why did no one tell me this show is a MUSICAL? And most of the songs slap. The animation is AWESOME! I just wish there had been more variety in the character designs. Like, the MC and her love interest look so alike, I genuinely thought they were sisters at first. This show is very much like an edgier version of The Good Place or Good Omens. I’m obsessed with Alastor. Angel and Husk are my new otp ❤️"
"I won’t lie, I wasn’t originally going to watch this because I’m rarely a fan of musicals, and for it to come to an animated show, I was very skeptical. But when I saw that it had a lot of hype around it, I decided to watch it, not expecting a lot. I was proven wrong. This was a lot of fun and everything plays out so well! Are there some moments where things feel really overwhelming and over the top? Yes. However, I feel like people reviewing this don’t exactly know how other adult animations are like Rick and Morty and South Park. I was intrigued with and fell in love with a lot of the characters and the concept was really interesting. Also, it did not fail in getting me in multiple emotions. If you like animations, musicals, and if you’re okay with raunchy humor here and there without getting too offended by it, I would highly suggest this."
