A magical romance between a boy cursed with invisibility and the one girl who can see him, by New York Times bestselling authors Andrea Cremer (Nightshade) and David Levithan (Every Day) Stephen is used to invisibility. He was born that way. Invisible. Cursed. Elizabeth sometimes wishes for invisibility. When you’re invisible, no one can hurt you. So when her mother decides to move the family to New York City, Elizabeth is thrilled. It’s easy to blend in there. Then Stephen and Elizabeth meet. To Stephen’s amazement, she can see him. And to Elizabeth’s amazement, she wants him to be able to see her—all of her. But as the two become closer, an invisible world gets in their way—a world of grudges and misfortunes, spells and curses. And once they’re thrust into this world, Elizabeth and Stephen must decide how deep they’re going to go—because the answer could mean the difference between love and death. Praise for INVISIBILITY * " Levithan and Cremer again prove themselves masters of their craft. The inventive, enrapturing story that follows involves spellseekers and a curse-casting grandfather, but Stephen’s and Elizabeth’s journey is largely about redemption, self-acceptance, and love. Cremer and Levithan make Stephen’s invisibility something every reader can relate to, and therein lies the magic." --Publishers Weekly, starred review "A must-read for both the realist and the romantic!" --Teen Vogue "[An] enigmatic mash-up of fantasy and romance set in contemporary real-world Manhattan. The collaboration of Levithan and Cremer creates a seamless narrative." --Booklist “Once in a while, along comes a book like this one, written by two great authors, with a fun premise and nice execution, and I don't feel like I need to cover my enjoyment of it with a cough and a sheepish grin. So thanks for that, Andrea Cremer and David Levithan!” --ForeverYA "Cremer and Levithan craft a tale of love and magic in their first collaborative effort." --School Library Journal "A fast-paced supernatural thriller that will surely leave readers wanting more.[A] love child of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Levithan’s Every Day." --Kirkus Reviews

"<b>3-4 stars. Can’t decide.</b><br/><br/>I finished this in two days! That’s a record for me. Usually, I’m slower. And not to say I read this faster, I just had more time during the day to read. I don't think I'll re-read this anytime soon. Maybe when I run out of stuff (and let's be honest, that'll be never).<br/><br/>The cover is misleading. The orange and yellow and Elizabeth smiling gives off a more “happy romance” vibe. While this had that, a majority of it is sad and dark and magical. Also, that girl is too dolled up! I imagined her more laid-back, with little to no makeup, not a ton of fancy clothes. This girl looks more like a fashionista. Eh. I don’t know how to feel about it. It was part of what sold me on getting this book, but now that I’ve read it, it doesn’t feel like it fits the story that well.<br/>I also feel like the Goodreads synopsis gives away too much! Geez, guys. Spoiler alert!<br/><br/><spoiler><br/><b>STORY:</b><br/>I could tell this was written by two people. It felt like Cremer took Jo’s POV and Levithan took Stephen. Then they came together and figured out how everything connected. Didn’t mesh perfectly.<br/><br/>I thought there would be more build up to finding out the reason the family moved. I am glad they gave it away when they did ‘cause if they waited any longer it would’ve been like, "Oh. That’s it?" Not that “it” wasn’t a big deal. But you get it, right?<br/><br/>I felt like (even though it’s probably not true) Jo liked him more than vice versa. She was more focused on her feelings and he thought more about the curse, which is probably why I felt that way. And that’s understandable! But I thought even with his occasional “I love her” moments, their relationship would’ve been more prominent in his mind. She is the first person to see him. But circumstances were odd.<br/><br/>Half way through this, there was a shift in tone. I don’t know if it’s just me or not but the beginning felt like more of a love story with some magic in it and the end half was a magical story with some romance in it, y’know?<br/><br/>Millie was too cautious and Jo was too eager to use her new found powers. That annoyed me a little. But for the most part, I like Jo’s narration. Stephen felt a little bland or sad sometimes (which, duh) and Jo talked like…me. I enjoyed it! :D<br/><br/>I’m still a little confused about how things work. The world building is okay and I’m still a bit unsure of how Jo can see him and others can’t. It has a cool concept, but not executed to the level I wanted.<br/><br/><br/><b>FAVORITES:</b><br/>My favorite character is Laurie. To go through so much and still be the cheerful, comedic relief we love is amazing. Everything he said I smiled at and I liked how he kinda saved the day at the end (even though that has most likely scarred him for life). I hope he and Sean get together.<br/><br/>My favorite part is where they went to the park to judge each other and other people. :P Chapter 5. Got it memorized.<br/><br/><br/><b>THE ENDING:</b><br/>Melancholy. That’s the only single word I can use to describe this ending. If I had to sum it up in one word, aside from magical, it would be that. <br/><br/>I was surprised when Saul died! I was just starting to love him and Millie, and you had to take him away! They had been through so much together, and the fact that these kids were the reason—ugh!<br/>It started being a real page turner toward the end when people were getting more curses and Jo’s mom forgot about her. Speaking of which! OH MY GOD! If that went on any longer I would’ve cried. Family stuff really gets me.<br/><br/>So at the end, she said she promised herself she’d break the curse. Even if she does get stronger, that’ll kill her, right? What will happen? Does he stay this way forever or not?! Was that one glimpse of his own hands that last he’ll see of himself? That was the final battle (which was pretty good) though, and I don’t think they wanna remember that.<br/><br/>I can’t see this having another book (more like a short story about their lives after these events). But I can’t help but feel 50% happy and 50% sad about the ending.<br/><br/>Fun fact: This book started with his chapter and ended with hers. Just something I noticed.<br/><br/><br/>My mom read this a little while after me. Here are her thoughts:<br/><i>I enjoyed the magicalness of it the most. I found it left me a little sad that Stephen was still invisible. At the same time, knowing Elizabeth’s (Jo’s) personality, I think she’ll lift the curse someday. My favorite was Laurie too. Such a positive person. I also really like Millie. Five stars for me. :)</i><br/></spoiler><br/><br/>Wanna talk to me about other cool stuff?
