"I’ve read this series out of order, reading Paris Daillencourt first, but the books don’t have to be read in order. I really enjoy the baking setting with the show similar to the Great British Baking Show. I really enjoyed Jennifer and her strong language and found her to be one of the funniest parts of the book. I like Rosaline and her daughter a lot and think she has a really great journey throughout the book. Harry is amazing, but doesn’t have any great amount of depth, which can be okay. This book is largely self-discovery more than romance, but is still sweet overall. 4⭐️, 2🌶"

"This book is a 4.5 / 5.
Really, the last 40+ pages saved this book.

Rosaline Palmer is a down-and-out single mom who's raising her 8-year-old daughter (precocious is an understatement) and lands a spot on a baking reality show, "Bake Expectations." There, she meets her trio, Anvita (hilarious), Alain (hottie turned asshole) and Harry (Cockney - made me MELT - that's slightly anxious but utterly adorable). She finds her way through this baking show and learns a lot about herself along the way. The ending of this book is complete gold & I loved it.

The only reason why I put this at 4.5 is because there's a chapter in this book where Rosaline is being sexually assaulted by a friend, while her "boyfriend" Alain is watching, because this friend is supposedly trying to "figure out her sexuality." Come to find out, this friend was coerced by Alain to perform this act for his enjoyment, much to the discomfort of all the other parties considered. Harry ends up saving the day (YAY!) but it's a rough chapter to read. You definitely get the "ick" factor from him, early in the book.

Alexis Hall does it again! I can't wait to read the next book :)"
