He's not the one she came for.But he just might be the one she stays for.The emotional, highly anticipated follow-up to Archer's Voice, following Archer's troubled brother Travis.Travis Hale has a lot going for him: chief of police in the small town of Pelion, Maine, a tragic past he's worked hard to overcome, and the kind of smolder that makes women forget their own names. But the scars of being "the wrong Hale brother" still cut deep.Enter Haven Torres, a free-spirited mess with a broken past and zero plans to stay. She's in town for a reset, not to fall for the gruff cop who delivers tough love with an accidental side of soul-crushing chemistry. When Travis offers to help her make another man jealous, it starts as a harmless deal. But soon, teasing glances turn into late-night confessions, and fake flirty touches start to feel dangerously real. Haven has her sights set on leaving, and Travis swore he'd never come in second place again. But love has a way of rewriting all the rules.A slow burn so tender it aches. A second-chance brother story that hits deep. This is Travis—and he's impossible not to fall for.Tropes that will break (and heal) you:Grumpy x sunshineSmall-town romanceMisunderstood antiheroSlow burnFake datingJealousyRedemption arcLove from readers:"All the stars, all the feels. "Very nice light read, just like Archers Voice but, I’d say it’s a little bit better"

"3.5 stars - This is a follow-up, but not a sequel, to the novel Archer’s Voice. I absolutely loved Archer’s Voice and had pretty high expectations for this book. It did not live up to my expectations. Honestly, there wasn’t strong chemistry between the characters and for the length of the story there wasn’t much to the plot. It was slow at times and didn’t do a good job keeping me interested in reading it. "
"This book was “meh”. I felt that my expectation and excitement plummeted in the first half of the book. I was hoping for more character and heart yet it did not deliver. I’m as close to not finishing it but somehow wanted to see if the plot picks up yet it was a mix of wishy washy story just for the sake of it. Archers voice was top notch yet this second book was like the total opposite. The only reason that kept me going was because I wanted to read more of Bree and Archer and that was just it. 😅"

"It was ok I don’t know why I was so slow with reading it but it was kinda boring in the beginning but I did love the characters and the small town romance. I recommend but most likely won’t ever reread it"
