"Wild Hunger (Heirs of Chicagoland) by Chloe Neill ****/*****
#Libby #AnyPlay #AudibleCredit #Reviews

Triggers:
Troupe: Childhood Enemies to Lovers, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance

Spoilers Possible

I read this book by mistake! I normally would not start a series like this until it was complete. I thought it was complete, it is notttttt.

Honestly we all knew this was coming after the end of the Chicagoland Vampires series. It was set up many books back and I’m gonna be real honest I am seriously let down by how this is turning out. Merit and Ethan are so courageous and badass and Elisa just isn’t. From the very beginning she is running away from her problems and lying to everyone about what is going on with her. She never even tells her parents about her monster when they could really help! Especially Merit! Honestly Elisa has a split personality just like how Merit did. I’m sure there will be a come to Jesus moment but we haven't gotten there yet. I’m disappointed in Mallory and Catcher as well. I expected more of them in this series because Lulu is such an important part of this series. Lulu is also hiding from her issues by just pretending she doesn't have magic.

My main issue with the series is that I don't understand how the deal with the city is supposed to help anything. Back in the OG series the overarching issue was humans trying to deal with supernatural problems with human solutions and yet they make a deal with the city to let them deal with supernatural problems with human solutions. THIS HELPS NOTHING! They’re just lucky that no big baddies have moved into town before now. So far the Heirs of Chicagoland books are just watered down imitations of the Chicagoland Vampires series. And I am just very saddened by this. The only reason I rated this series 4 stars is because IF I didn’t know that this series was a spin off I’d probably really love it. But because I do and I read all of the Chicagoland Vampires books and the Heirs of Chicagoland books in less than 2 weeks the spinoff just felt very unorigional. I think I just need to put some time between rereading the two series and maybe wait til the spin off is complete before giving this series a try again.

PS Connor is the only character who hasn’t annoyed me yet.

Ebook: https://www.amazon.com/Wild-Hunger-Heirs-Chicagoland-Novel-ebook/dp/B076GR29M5/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=wild+hunger&qid=1637581437&qsid=144-4995785-6497708&sr=8-1&sres=B076GR29M5%2CB07CRNPHX3%2C1571313729%2CB0056HF1I8%2CB07PH9FT9Z%2CB0073XTH0G%2C0847689689%2C0553609416%2C0768459273%2CB08GP15FZQ%2C9123933925%2CB07G3GRBF6%2CB072NGWB8J%2C0700615016%2CB00IRCZH3I%2C195360000X
Audiobook: https://www.audible.com/pd/Wild-Hunger-Audiobook/1515986209?qid=1637581443&sr=1-2&ref=a_search_c3_lProduct_1_2&pf_rd_p=83218cca-c308-412f-bfcf-90198b687a2f&pf_rd_r=T5D04D28KS1EAV81Y5VF
Author’s Website: http://www.chloeneill.com/
Goodreads:
"
