Twenty-eight years since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one member departs on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

"I loved the set pieces. And just look of the film. It can be very grassy and with buildings covered with that. Lots of the time though it’s really pretty.
The story I do think was a little disappointing especially how it ended. But I enjoyed the moments leading up to it.
The zombies however were very cool. Very actually terrifying. Cool to see zombies that actually run and are very just eerie.
The action and intense moments were cool. Mainly just lots of running. But I don’t know something about the sound effects make those moments when the zombies run actually engaging.
The action is with a bow mainly. I think it works well not only to add tension, because a bow obviously takes a lot more skill than just firing a gun. It just grounds the film more and makes you feel the struggle more than say a gun would have.
Plus the movie just feels so grounded I liked that a lot. Added a lot to my enjoyment. Do think a lot will find it just slow. But I tend to like grounded.
Not sure what I like more this or sinners. This I think slightly more. Didn’t enjoy the second half of sinners as much. Not to like a high degree but still.
Will watch these backwards. Since I did watch the newest one first. random idea I had. Will honestly just watch the next one tomorrow. Been bored and my movie mood is here.
Close family friend wanted to go to the movies so my brothers and I went.
The most times I’ve been in a movie theater in a year maybe ever. It’s not super common for me especially lately.
Anyways it was nice being in a theater again. Stopped worrying about snacks I was eating.( obsessed with working out and diet mostly just the sodium

"A fantastic film. While it is essentially a tale of a family surviving years into the Rage Virus apocalypse from the first film, I was especially struck by the surprising amount of emotional heft this film had (came close to tearing up actually) on top of making the child the main protagonist. Easily the direction by Danny Boyle (especially with use of quick cuts and cameras) along with the acting (and even writing) are the MVPs here, with Alfie Williams proving a fantastic breakout performance as the young protagonist and Jodie Comer being the film’s emotional heart as his mother. Strong supporting performances by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes as well, not to mention a bonkers cameo towards the end by Jack O’Connell that perfectly sets up the next films (Jack is having quite a year in the zombie/vampire movie genres this year between this and SINNERS). Highly recommended."

"I liked a lot about this movie; the zombies, the characters, the cinematography, the subtext criticism of masculinity, war, humanity, and savagery. The script was particularly good in some parts (i.e. conversations between the character and his mother). However, I also thought that there were some really out-of-left-field choices that I'm sure will eventually be important to the franchise, but they felt very random and nonsensical. There's a beautiful moment in the movie about death and acceptance, but then the movie just continues on and feels very confusing at the end. I hope further installments better flesh out the world and give us more answers. Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, and Alfie Williams were spectacular, while Aaron Taylor Johnson was in the movie for less than I expected (although he was also good)."
"I might be in the minority when I say I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Stellar acting from the entire cast. Fantastic camerawork considering the entire movie was shot on iPhones coupled with fancy camera lenses. It gave the film that grainy home video feel that was prevalent in 28 Days Later. The ending is indeed anticlimactic, so I can see that dividing viewers, but I'm excited for what's to come next in this franchise. "
"Such a huge disappointment. The movie is whatever and could’ve been ok if it was a new movie franchise but being part of the 28 franchise just wasn’t right. The different breeds and alpha rage bate humans just seemed like an entirely different movie idea. Plus I was kinda bored throughout this film. 2.5/5"

"I didn’t have high expectations I won’t lie the other two are some of my favorite takes on zombies and I just didn’t have a lot of faith that this one would be as good. I was right to a degree I don’t think it’s as good as the other two but it’s really good compared to what I thought it was going to be."
