"This movie was insanely sweet & incredibly touching.
Now the beginning sort of veers you in one direction, making the rest of the movie come at a shock. & that's a good thing. It leads away from what this will actually mean. The humor keeps you invested, and they do manage to hook their audience. Because they need to. The ending for this movie feels wholesome & right in so many ways. I am being vague because I refuse to spoil this for anyone. Even the description kind of spoils things, so I want people to go into this blind. Clearly the way it was intended to.
Some conversations this movie shows aren't always PC or appropriate for those moments, but they are rare and real. I'm not saying you're going to be offended by it, I'm saying they say what everyone would think in those moments and they address them head on. They don't hide from anything. It makes everything feel more realistic while adding an extra layer that some movies only play fun at. This one though puts comedy there & keeps the core of the moment from collapsing in on itself.
Now the characters. All the actors played an excellent part here. From the children to comedic reliefs even, they're well done. Truly some side characters managed to really stick with me. They also had depth to them I didn't expect. Each ones personality came off right away, encompassing their characters. And those are just the side cast. The main family is also expertly done. They each embodied their characters and the chemistry between them. Whether it was our main two showing a married couple, or others being what they are to each other. (Again. No spoilers).
Overall, the movie completely exposed itself & still managed to hook me. It laid itself out bare and exposed the underlying message, story, and so much more. Incredibly well done on their part for telling a story without restrictions and maintaining its pure beliefs."
"Mildly satisfying."
