Writer and director Celine Song did and she wrote and directed this wonderful, melodramatic, touching what if film. All 3 of the MC’s acting is absolutely terrific. What’s unusual in this case is these are the most well adjusted, smart and respectful characters on the planet. Especially the husband. "

"I fully expected to watch this and be like: 5 stars!! But nah it wasn't that good, and I don't think it was just my high expectations. I'm not gonna trash the movie either, but I heard great reviews when it first released so I was really excited when I saw it finally go on Netflix. The story line and message were the highlights for me, but the big con was the slow progress with dead spots. I also didn't care for Greta Lee's performance the whole time, mainly in the second half, it wasn't as convincing. But anyway, still a good concept and worth watching once, 4/5🚡🎠"

"The most cathartic experience I’ve ever had through a film. I cried 6 separate times. The Before Trilogy trilogy walked so Past Lives could run. It touched my soul. Similar to Everything Everywhere All at Once, Celine Song explores our fascination with all of our lives that could have been realized, but never were. And all of our future lives that are yet to be. A Buddhist idea that has seeped into the psyche of a whole generation. Past Lives comments on idealism, young love, and what it means to be an immigrant. I gained insight into a lifestyle and culture that is far from relatable for me. I adore this film and cannot wait to watch it again. Congratulations to Celine Song for creating such a resonant piece of art."
