"So, they decided Zombies wasn't a big enough catch, they had to add some wolves to the mix. Werewolves, that is.
Basically, after making a cohesive town, they had to throw a wrench in because they couldn't think of another way to create conflict in a finished Romeo & Juliet story.
Well, the songs at least improved. But now it's turned hard into the women empowerment trope Disney is obsessed with trying to figure out, not realizing it gets worse every time. It's all about Addison now. She has to find herself despite her big revelation of accepting herself in the first film. Now she's a chosen one (I watched the entire thing, and it was completely predictable). Only problem being they're trying to satire the chosen one pick a bit.
Not to mention, they decided to throw a wrench in the love story too. Instead of loving growing with them, they're sticking a wedge between them because. .reasons. . . Considering how the 3rd movie goes, thar makes sense. Not satisfying and kind of annoying to watch, but I expected as much at this point.
So why 3 stars? Honestly, the song We Own the Night saves it all. I love it and it's catchy. Plus the werewolves are actually fun additions (even the one cliche sidekick). They make this movie worth watching. They feel realistic and the alpha plays her part so well. Honestly, Addison is an annoying side part in this film. All I care about is the werewolves. Plus the big number where they help out, I'll give that to our already established characters. That scene made this movie have something more than just Addison needs to find herself. Zed also had some character problems but they get sidelined too.
Overall it's a fun addition to the franchise and I'd prefer this over the original. I continue to find the Main girl more frustrating as the series continues but her ability to just accept does save her and the franchise from time to time. Still, worth watching this sequel."
"This movie is a sutible nod towards native amercians and the exploitation of there land and resources. The message is to love all and to find peace with each other and help the people around you . #zombies #romance i wonder what aliens will be a metophor for the asians and nukes ?? Its great having kid films that teach well mesages"
"The best movie of the triology, hands down. It's got the choreo of the first, the werewolves (wylla my beloved), a whole bunch of bops, call to the wild is still a regular play.
also by best i mean we're dealing with a 5 vs the 4 ☆ of 1 and the 4.5☆ of 3, if you were disappointed by descendants this is the real good musical trilogy, its got a coherant thru line story any everything, its like someone actually scripted this as a multi movie saga
as you can tell, im passionate about this dcom"
