"After finishing, I'll admit it's probably the best, and most relatable coming-of-age story I've seen in recent years. The whole thing was beautifully well done; and never a dull moment. I will however bash it for Justin's mom being very adamant that he only dates black girls, and without any pushback from the other characters. No explanation given either. The white inverse of this type of narrative would not be acceptable in modern entertainment, so why is it okay here? Strange and a double standard. Otherwise, that's the only thing I can scrutinize this series for. Everything else felt like a very real emotional experience."
