"I truly enjoyed watching this historical series with some plausible fiction. The plot is about an experienced, yet cocky doctor from Tokyo, who has made a mistake which causes a patient to become comatose. By a strange twist🪢, Jin is taken back in time to the Edo period of Japan, before the unification, and the end of the Shogunate. He must try to make a living as a doctor with no past, and quickly find lodgings and a safe place to work. It is a smaller production, less grand than the usual Asian cinema items that I usually experience. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it. The plot seemed too simple, and the camera footage simple, but by the end of the first episode, I was all in. The second and third episodes in the first season seem a little slow, but as all of the main characters, many historical, are introduced, the story picks up steam, and the interconnected stories are emotional and intelligent. The acting from the ensemble cast is outstanding, and is respectful to what a villager would experience back in those times. There are two seasons. Japanese audio. "
"Amazing acting and work put into set, very high budget compared to other jdramas while still feeling authentic, and not overdone. "
