"POV: I love cozy fantasies more than the average person.
They saved the realm 10 yrs ago and then their lives fell apart. Reminiscing about the past while living in the present really worked for me in this book.
The personal drama begins immediately in Chapter 1 and it doesn’t stop. It may annoy some but I was there for it! Unfortunately; almost half way through everyone is still bickering and I am wondering if this is going to get better. Thankfully it does get better. We start to read about what happened in the past. I start to feel the chemistry between the two couples based on their past, not reading about it in the present. Like it does something to my mind that allows the authors to not have to work as hard at developing the chemistry; it works for me.
I did not see the end coming. At all. Was it incredibly satisfying? No. But kudos for the surprise factor. I’ll take it. If the authors wrote another book in this series, I would read it. "
