Music . . . the heart's greatest librarian. The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I'd always envisioned. I'd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man's beats and another's lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview. Two days. One playlist. And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.

"I really did not enjoy this book. Very wordy and hard to get through. Honestly only got sort of interested about 2/3 of the way through. Main character kind of annoyed me and there was a lot of internal monologue that was repetitive. Knock off version of the notebook and did not need to be as long as it was. "

"ALL THE ANGSTY STARS IN THE WORLD!!!

“That’s the thing about intimacy and truly knowing the person you’re with. They always know when something’s off, no matter how casually you try to sweep your unease away. They know. It’s their job, because in the song of your life, they are the ones listening. It’s when they stop that you need to worry. He’d listened to mine. He knew when a beat was missing, or a note was forgotten. He’d memorized my song, and I was his favorite.”
― Kate Stewart, Drive

I actually had to go back and read this story again because I was so distraught the first time. This one is full of angst! Two amazing men but only one right decision!

Beautifully written and executed...loved it!!!"
"I couldn’t put this book down. I still can’t decide if my heart is aching or if it’s full. While this story had the outcome I was hoping for, my heart breaks for the outcome that could have been."

"This story was so so good, but I’m not going to lie. I was bored until about 65-70% when the groveling began. I couldn’t put it down after that. The way that Kate Stewart writes her men. They are all perfection.

I would give this a solid 4.5 stars. To put it over the edge, it should have been dual pov, and there are certain parts where I didn’t want to be told what happened; I wanted to be there and feel it when it did happen, if that makes sense. Either way, loved it, great story!"
