Two years after the man she loved was killed in Afghanistan, Morgan Bartley is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. Renovating her dilapidated beach house in the Outer Banks might be just the distraction she needs to manage her debilitating anxiety attacks and begin to heal. That is, if she can ignore the ridiculously handsome guy next door...Jackson Montgomery’s life revolves around his five-year-old daughter and his job as a Coast Guard Search and Rescue pilot. But while his gorgeous new neighbor is clearly in distress, he’s pretty sure she’s no damsel. Morgan is stubborn with more defenses than the Hope Diamond, and the dog tags hanging from her rearview mirror give him a pretty good clue as to why.Morgan swore she’d never fall for another pilot, let alone a military man—and Jackson is heartbreak waiting to happen. But love never plays by the rules...especially when you try to play it safe. The Flight & Glory series is best enjoyed in order.Reading Order:Book #1 Full MeasuresBook #2 Eyes Turned SkywardBook #3 Beyond What is GivenBook #4 Hallowed GroundBook #5 The Reality of Everything

"There is so much and yet so little to say about this book and the series itself. Short story? Outstanding.

Long story? Buckle up.

Starting with the book, Jackson is one of my favorite book boyfriends. He never took Morgan’s recovery personally as she was grieving another man, who was starting to grow on me too when he died. He was patient, protective, and overall, an amazing dad and partner for Morgan. He let her lash out as much as she needed but then welcomed her back anytime she needed it.

Morgan. My girl. I couldn’t exactly tell you what about Morgan made me also love her, but I totally understand why Jackson did. She is my favorite FMC in this whole series. She dealt through so much on her own, and then learned to live again. Her character development is raw and heartbreaking at times, but it’s so beautiful.

The series itself is also simply raw. The grief, anxiety, and every other emotion that comes with being a military spouse/family is so eye opening. It makes watching those coming home videos hit that much harder. The friendship developed and maintained in this series is also done so beautifully, I cried on multiple occasions. Morgan was finally able to let go when she unleashed on her friends, and it gave me hope that her friends not only welcomed her back, but also gave her the grace she needed to grieve properly and recover.

This may be my favorite series of all time, right up there with Windy City by Liz Tomforde.

"
"Ludicrous

I'm really glad this series is over. She told the same story 5 times and it got worse every time. Yarros is just tossing stuff against the wall with this one. No character ever written has needed a romantic relationship less than Morgan. She is an absolute mess and still devastated over losing Will. Enter Jackson. He immediately falls for Morgan, but since she is in the mental place that she is he is completely understanding, patient and just wants to offer her friendship as she heals. Lol just kidding. He becomes obsessed with Morgan and even though he knows how badly she's hurting and that his job will be a huge trigger for her, he manipulates her, invades her privacy, breaks her trust, and refuses to take no for an answer. He's complete garbage. His behavior is unhinged and crazy. When Morgan says she doesn't want to see him anymore? Shows up at her house everyday and the moment she steps outside he's in her face. The whole story takes place over 4 months and she's only speaking with Jackson for about 2 of those months. Still, Jackson is so obsessed that he tells her on multiple occasions that he doesn't just want her body, he wants her soul. Her soul? Absolute crazy talk. I will not be reading any more books by this author. In 5 books, there were 3 scenes of a possessive mam carrying a woman out of a bar because how dare she enjoy herself with a few drinks? Archaic take on relationships. The way she describes kissing is gross. If anyone ever kissed you the way she describes it, it would be the most disgusting moment of your life. Also, if you want alcohol poisoning, take a shot every time a character's forehead puckers in this series. Anyways, back to this train wreck of a book. The sex scenes are again insanely drawn and with the most cringeworthy dialogue I've ever read. Yarros is obsessed with the guy telling the girl she's going to scream his name and then pointing how how wet she is. At one point Morgan calls Jackson a sorcerer because of his bedroom skills. Just so stupid. Equally stupid is the ending of this book. I'm just so glad it's over."

"Sooo good if you want a military civilian love story this is the book. Both main characters are strong and going through some real tough situations. The male lead is a single father and the female just lost a lover. Literally the most realistic love story!!!"
