"Even better than Book 1!
Personally, I found this second installment even stronger than Ledge, and it definitely sets the stage for an exciting Book 3. The magic system and world-building felt more developed, and you’re immediately thrown into a state of chaos—in the best way. Baltisse quickly became one of my favorite characters, and I absolutely loved how fierce and capable the women are throughout the story. Without giving too much away: yes, we return to the ledge, face off against the queens, and meet a new Ice King. If you enjoyed Ledge, I highly recommend diving into this one!"
"Uh oh, got a bad case of second book syndrome. Like many others, I thought the first quarter of the book was well done, and then the plot came to a complete standstill. With nothing but filler, this could have definitely been a duology and, unsurprisingly, did not hold up to the majesty of book one.
Still, I loved the side characters and the addition of a certain captain. Esra is still my favorite. He is a prince I tell you, a GD prince. Dawsyn is her usually withdrawn self. While this was making most readers upset, I think it is within reason from what she has gone through.
I love how wild the magic is, although it took Dawsyn way too long to get a hold of it. Maybe if she had practiced or even tried. It was deeply frustrating. This book was mostly irrelevant, but I still want to finish the series."
