"Spark of the Everflame rekindled the fire I have for fantasy. The world building was great, it felt a little slow at times, but is definitely something I can get into!! I enjoyed the hilarious banter, drama and romance and the mysterious disappearance of Diem’s mother. (Don’t spoil it for me but my first thoughts was her mother may have been the boss of The Guardians.) ❤️❤️❤️❤️"
"I wasn’t sure about the hype of this book until the very end. The last 200 or so pages finally picked up the pace and then I was really hooked. I’m curious about Luther, I’m curious about the guardians… WHO IS CORRECT????
There is almost no spice but it’s starting to build a good slow burn and the enemies to lovers are currently enemies!! I’m excited to see where this story goes! Also the END AND THE EPILOGUE ??????????"
"I loved this story—I mean, truly loved it. Diem stole my heart, and now I’m left impatiently waiting for the next book like a feral reader sniffing the wind for updates.
It was such a refreshing twist to have a Healer as the main character. Diem, about 20 years old and emotionally multitasking like a champ, is trying to piece her life together after her mother vanishes under mysterious circumstances. She throws herself into her healing work, attempting the whole “normal life” thing, even though the universe clearly said, “Not today, girl.”
She’s been popping this special powder her whole life, believing it’s what keeps her balanced—spoiler: it was basically magical NyQuil suppressing her powers. Naturally, once she stops taking it, things start to get spicy. Diem is deep in denial about her not-so-mortal side, and watching her come to terms with her magic is a fun, chaotic ride.
Now let’s talk about Henri—her boyfriend—and his rebel bros. Personally? Not a fan. They gave off major "wrong vibe" energy. Whether that was intentional or not, I was mentally yeeting him out of scenes by chapter three. Diem deserves better and, frankly, more interesting.
As Diem gets drawn into palace politics and tangled responsibilities, a much bigger world opens up—full of secrets, powers, and problems she didn’t sign up for. It’s a story of self-discovery, magical mayhem, and that classic internal crisis of “is my boyfriend actually it?” (He’s not. Probably. We’ll see.)
All in all, Spark of the Everflame delivers a delicious blend of mystery, magic, and messy emotions, wrapped around a heroine you can’t help but root for. I’m fully invested, and I need to know what happens next."
"4.5 ⭐️ This is my kind of book. A skilled fighter FMC that doesn’t know the true extent of her power…a morally grey/shadow wielding MMC…and a class war that has our gal Diem questioning who’s side she’s actually on. I feel invested in her story and can’t wait to start the next one. Excited to find out what secrets will be uncovered!"
"It’s not often that I give the first book in a series 5 stars, but this one got me. I was hooked immediately, on the edge of my seat often, and am now dying to buy the next book. It’s always nice to read a book that you can’t stop thinking about, and you get excited when it’s finally time to read it that day."
"Wish this series was complete. I really enjoyed it"
