All of the fun, none of the heartache...as long as they stick to the agreement. The proposition is simple: if ER nurse Claire Harper and her roommate, firefighter Graham Scott, are still single by the time they're forty, they'll take the proverbial plunge together...as friends with benefits. Maybe it's the wine, but in the moment, Claire figures the pact is a safe-enough deal, considering she hasn't had much luck in love and he's in no rush to settle down. Like, at all. Besides, there's no way she could ever really fall for Graham and his thrill-seeking ways. Not after what happened to her father... Just as things begin to heat up way before the proposed deadline, Graham's injured in a serious rock climbing accident--and he needs Claire's help to heal. She'll do whatever it takes to nurse him back to health...even if it means moving in to Graham's bed and putting up with his little dog, who hates her. But with this no-strings arrangement taking a complicated turn, keeping "for now" from turning into "forever" isn't as easy as they'd planned.

"3.5⭐
This book wasn't overly amazing, but it was a fun, easy read, and I definitely don't regret checking it out! Claire and Graham were both lovable, and they made a great couple! Graham's parents were super sweet and I loved getting to see Claire interact with them! That whole section of the book was great! I also loved the emails that Graham wrote. I thought it was a fun idea, and I was glad he finally decided to show them to Claire! Gertrude, Graham's dog, was a fun addition to the book, and I enjoyed seeing her and Claire finally come around to one another. Now, for the two weird things. First, how has Graham never moved on from his eighth grade disaster? I mean, I get why it would have been tough back then, but it was also over twenty years ago! You can't let something that happened when you were 14 dictate your entire love life, or in this case, lack thereof. And second, you would think that a book that talks so much about sex AND has the friends with benefits trope would have some spice, but nope. It's all fade to black. I didn't mind the lack of spice, it just seemed a bit weird given the context. Nurse x Firefighter, friends with benefits to lovers, forced proximity/roommates, he falls first, dual POV, and there's a cute but slightly angry little dog! If you like forced proximity and/or roommate romances then this book is worth checking out!"
"4.5 stars - I ADORED this novel. The Roommate Pact has the perfect balance of sweet romance while still being believable. Claire and Graham’s chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS - the tension was thick enough to cut and I loved every minute of it.

I liked that they were friends/roommates for a while before taking things physical. It made the progression of their relationship feel honest. Claire never had an issue standing up for herself or speaking her mind. Graham gave the same level of snarky-ness right back. That’s how you know these two are end game.

These two also opened up to each other slowly which made each milestone feel earned. Both Claire and Graham had very valid and real fears about entering a serious relationship, but ultimately knew that they could
persevere for the promise of their love.

Although The Roommate Pact had zero spicy scenes (that’s right folks, it’s all fade to black), I never found myself missing it. And I love a good ****-riddled book. That’s how amazing the writing is, I never thought twice about the lack of on page sex until I was done reading.

I will say, I hate small dogs so I was not a fan of Gertie. But she did win Claire over so I guess she can’t be too bad!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review."

"I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book and while I probably won’t think to pick it up again, it was a fun cute read and I enjoyed it! Graham and Claire’s relationship was very cute and I loved Gertrude’s part in the story as well! there were lots of little scenes or things I liked in this book but I did think the ending was a little rushed. there is no spice despite the themes of this book, it’s all fade-to-black, so if you prefer closed door romance like me, you might enjoy this one! overall I’d give this book a 3.75/5 ⭐️"
