"I almost dnfed this just like with the first book. It is good, but it gets slow after a while, and whisking the characters into random battle scenes doesn't fix that slowness. But, I liked this one better than the first one. unfortunately, however, just like with the first one, I had to switch to audiobook halfway through in order to keep my focus, which I dont enjoy having to do. I want to love these more than I do. "

"I love the Black history and power of the ancestors in this series. Bloodmarked really illustrated generational curses. We talk about it often in the Black community but the Bloodmark is the manifestation of a generational curse, following the women in Bree’s family. The author also does a beautiful job of depicting the pain that’s been following the bloodlines of Black families since slavery.
The book has positive Black women representation, as well as a few 2SLGBTQIA+ characters.
This is a series that I wish I had when I was a teen and I can’t wait to share it with my niece. Until then I’ll be patiently waiting for the third book. 5 ⭐️’s for this series. "
