"Can robots and artificial intelligence be evil? This book mixes both sci-fi and horror perfectly and had me eyeing my Alexa differently.

Henry suffers from agoraphobia and lives inside a smart house that him and his wife created; both brilliant engineers. At home he works on making gadgets and toys..... and also his creation in the attic, William. William is a robot with a peculiar image but what makes him so special is his intelligence. However, that intelligence unnerves Henry as he seems to be getting more and more astute and particularly interested in the human experience. Soon Henry and his wife, Lily, and two of her friends learn just what William has become and so begins the nightmare.

I really enjoyed this quick read. From the beginning I wanted to know more about both Henry and Lily. Then when William is introduced I immediately got the creeps. The way the tension builds on a human level between Henry, Lily, and Lily's two friends and then right then William gets thrown into the mix. What follows is a locked room horror with some of the most creepy and tense scenes I've read in a while. I'd love to see this as a film. The ending blew my mind which also hasn't happened in a while. I highly recommend."
